When I watch these unreal RC drift car videos, I get inspired to go out and buy an RC car. The control, the detail, it’s like owning the AE86 I’ve always wanted for a fraction of the cost. Then, I come to my senses, and remember vividly, that every time I pilot one of these cars, it usually ends poorly. By poorly, I mean destroying the fucking thing, and having to go back to the hobby-shop for parts.
Flyinglap aka Joe knows more useless car information than anybody. He owns every Car & Driver since 1986. His 11 year old son knows the difference between an E24 and E28. His 7 year old son says "gai-ar-doh" not "gah-lar-doh" .

You can drive like these doods, too... You just need a D-box !

Years ago, you had to have mad talent to drift an RC car with the smoothness demonstrated in that video, but now it's just a mater of tuning your D-Box and letting her rip !
These are essentially helicopter tail rotor gyros adapted to street cars. The DBox2 is more 'tunable' for drifting.
1st Gen: (looks curiously similar to the Futaba unit below)
